Jan's Dough: Create Sourdough Starter Recipe

For too many years, I would never attempt to bake
pies because I just didn't really know how to make good pie crust (and,
OK Mom, truth to tell, I just didn't want to learn how...). Well, my husband finally cornered me one day and asked me to bake an apple pie. So I decided I had to make the final leap---and learn how to make pie crust. And I did...it's called Pie Crust Mix. (See my article Yes, You Can Make Pie Crust! for illustrated instructions to use pie crust mix to make great "homemade" pie crust.) There is a little "art" in rolling the pie crust, getting it into a pie pan, and then crimping the edge. So, I've done a short illustrated tutorial for you on just that! Go to: The Secret to Crimping Pie Crust And if you are looking for something to put in the pie crust that you can now make, go to: Grandma Gallagher's Pumpkin Pie Now you can make pie crust...and my grandmother's pumpkin pie! |
