Here's a quick and easy tip for putting
the sparkle back into your clear glassware: Bleach water. Fill your kitchen sink to the half-way point, and pour in 1/4 cup of bleach---be sure not to splash! Carefully put in your clear glassware: drinking glasses, mugs, measuring cups, mixing bowls, even Pyrex baking dishes. Allow to soak for 10 minutes. If you have more glassware than will fit in the sink at the same time, then carefully remove soaked glassware (be sure not to splash!), and put in more glassware. Rinse the bleach-soaked glassware very thoroughly. All to drip dry in a drying rack, or place glassware on several layers of paper toweling to allow to dry. If you use white polyboard cutting boards, then you can soak them in the bleach water as well. However, soak for only a few minutes. This will remove any stains and decontaminate the boards as well. Before you drain the sink, grab a disposable cleaning cloth, soak in bleach water, wring until almost dry, and wipe down kitchen counters, and appliances. The faint bleach odor will dissipate very quickly---and you'd be surprised at just how "clean" everything will look! Drain the sink and be sure to rinse thoroughly. |
